The SL 72 was first introduced in 1972 as part of the adidas SL (Super Light) range of running shoes. It was designed as a lightweight racing shoe, particularly for track and field events. The shoe was innovative for its time, featuring a new last that was built for speed, and a dual-density midsole for cushioning and support. This version of the SL 72 takes the original design and reimagines it for modern style, with a smooth leather upper and a rubber outsole. A metal heel clip adds a signature touch.
